THE USUAL WAY

If we had just one good reason
we would find a way
If we knew of all the answers
we'd surely tell today
If we thought that things were right
we wouldn't waste our time
to sit around in conversations
about our state of mind

I can sense that you believe
everything you say
Still we all need some reprieve
from the usual way ... Today

If I felt that all the people
gave a damn at all
I would just stick out my neck
and take every fall
But I've come to some conclusions
through the passing years
sad to say they've all come true and
justified my fears

If I never wondered why
I wouldn't be a man
If I laid my head to cry
I'd never know the plan
Now I've thought of one good reason
I am here to stay
got to gain some new perspective
from the usual way
