QUEEN'S VIEW

Don't know why I ever even talked to you
Something just drew me in
Maybe I was captivated by your eyes
or the love you were hiding within
It didn't take long for my heart to say
this love was meant to be
and I cried inside to be denied

Standing all alone on a Cape Cod beach
gazing at the evening moon
I swear I saw Scotland in the far northeast
I knew I had to get there soon
Exactly four months after our first chat
Oasis played in the stage light
And you told me that you loved me

Two days later in a very close group
You vowed to take my hand
I'd already known for several months
Someday you would be my man

But I had to catch a plane and go back home
far across the sea
Weeks of lonliness came and went
before the Big House New Year's Eve

Then there was that conversation on the phone
There was something that you had to say, couldn't wait anymore

Now we spend our time underneath the starry skies
Planning the direction for the future of our lives
