OWN TWO HANDS

People ask me what I'm doing with myself these days
I gotta admit I've been relaxing a bit in my own way
Watching the patterns of the clouds as they cross the sky
Or the birds of a feather flocking together as they fly by

I might shuffle my feet and do the geezer dance
I might play this guitar I built with my own hands
With my own two hands

Once in a while Patti and me head down to the sea
And spend half the day just walking the beach
We always find treasures buried there in the sand
Taking advantage of these blessings of ours while we can

With all of the time that I spent working to raise a family
I'm taking some time to clear my mind and let my heart run free
There's still a lot of work to do on this little piece of land
We're taking our time and doing it right with our own two hands

I see my little grandson nearly every week
He's always so happy like a little boy deserves to be
And as time goes by he'll grow up to be a man
If I could give him anything in this world
I'd give him the power to do it with his own two hands
