PICK UP STIX

My beliefs don't matter much
in this ungodly time
When young fight to save our way of life
A debt we can't repay
they will live with every day
Memories of trying to survive

Pray for all the husbands
and the wives they left behind
and all the children crying
for their daddy in the night
Pray for all the parents
waving their goodbyes
And pray
before you go to sleep tonight

It's been this way for centuries
Since man first fell to earth
The stronger taking something from the weak
I'm holding out my hope
for the future's history
That we can change this human legacy
and be free

It doesn't mater what I think about the politics
as the war machine marches on
Another child's game of pick up stix
and I pray it won't last long
