POINTING THE WAY

I've got a few words that I'd like to say
Coming straight from the heart
A feeling I carry with me every day
I'm glad you were here from the start
Knowing that we'll never part

And I still recall moments so small
others might let slip away
yet they are still mine and helped to define
the person that I am today
thank you for pointing the way

Every once in a while in a challenging time
I ask myself what you might say
And the answer I hear, always so clear
once again pointing the way
to the love that I'm feeling today

And this love that I'm feeling so strong
brings us closer as we go along
and here in my heart, I cherish my start
and the blessings I'm counting today
thank you for pointing the way

Each day that I rise, in the mirror my eyes
show bits of wisdom passed on
Defining my course and thanking the source
and the love I have known all along
Destination to which I am drawn

Some choices I made might have led me astray
but I always returned to the way
that I know the best and where I was blessed
with the person that I am today
Thank you for pointing the way
