SOMEWHERE IN A DREAM

I had the strangest dream last night
It shook me to the very core
A place, a face so completely unfamiliar
Still I'd seen it all before

It was like I had come and gone full circle
Nothing standing in my way
And there it was, a brand new sense of purpose
when I awoke today

Something deep and moving like a current
flowing through my darkened sleep
And I was touched by some enchanted spirit
and I awoke, lest I weep

The great detail has vanished in the haze
of the Monday work routine
Some distant feeling still haunts my waking hours
what do they really mean
these things I've seen
Somewhere in a dream
