HAPPY FATHERS DAY

So many years simply disappeared
gone in the blink of an eye
I replay the scene again and again
alone in my be every night
And I can't go back and undo the time
and change the way things are
I've got to learn to live without my fallen star

A little black rock that I keep in my pocket
is full of all the memories
and I carry it with me wherever I go
it owns a big part of me
and the hole that's left inside my heart
feels so bizarre

Seems so long and lonely this road that lies ahead
no that I am travailing alone
I will keep my spirits high, my tears will all run dry
and I will find my way back home

A gentle breeze talking in the trees
the sky's been blue all day
I'm sitting on the porch with my guitar
in 78 degrees
and when I awoke this morning I swear I heard you say
Good morning my love, happy father day
